Botched

The title of this movie really reflects the plot. The theme of the movie is: if anything can go wrong, it WILL and DOES go wrong. My hubby is a HUGE fan of this type of movie: dark comedy/horror/thriller. Expect bloody and gory scenes with a twisted sense of comedy with thrilling moments. You won’t get too scared, but you’re still be wishing SO MUCH that the actors and actresses will survive at the end of the movie. However, I’m not sure that everybody will like this type of movie, though I did enjoy it. For the crazy plot and characters and the dark comedy, I give it 7.2 out of 10 stars.

Botched

The Story:

Ritchie (Stephen Dorff) works for the mob as a thief. The mob’s boss, Mr. Groznyi (Sean Pertwee) tells him to steal some diamonds from an auction house. He and his accomplice manage to do so, but everything goes wrong. His accomplice dies and Ritchie loses the diamonds. Though really angry, Mr. Groznyi decides to give Ritchie another chance. This time he sends Ritchie to Russia to steal an ancient-looking cross from a penthouse. He goes there with two brothers, Peter (Jamie Foreman) and Yuri (Russell Smith). Peter is a big Russian guy who’s clearly dominant over his younger brother, Yuri. Yuri is a thin guy who looks like a geek and he often does silly things which crack me up. Laughing

Anyway, off they go to the penthouse, where they find the cross and Peter manages to kill someone there. Ritchie is upset, since he doesn’t want to create a scene. They go to the elevator to flee the scene, but due to stupidity, they “let” other passengers inside the elevator. As the elevator come down, they hear chaos outside. They’re afraid that the police are after them, so they decide to stop on the 13th floor to hide until they think they’re safe. Thus they “kidnap” those other passengers and lock them up in a room as hostages.

Chaos begins as strange things start to occur on the floor. They decide to let one of those hostages out, but before he can get inside the elevator, his head is cut off by a deranged killer. Who is the killer? Why is he after them? Not long after that, they realize that the killer has blocked the way to the elevator, so now they have to play hide and seek with the killer. Things become more complicated as one of the hostages manages to grab the gun that Peter is holding. That person also turns silly Yuri against them. Meanwhile the deranged killer is still out there, killing them one by one and they have nowhere else to go to other than trying to hide in the rooms on the 13th floor.

Who will survive in the end? What will happen to the killer? Expect some twists in the story and plenty of bloody, gory fun (that is, if you’re a fan of such a movie like me!).

Notes:

1. This movie is definitely NOT for the faint-hearted and NOT for those people who dislike twisted kind of comedy, but if you do like bloody, gory scenes and dark comedy, I’d recommend this one for you.

2. If you’re thinking of watching the movie, don’t do this when you’re in the mood to watch something serious. This movie is CRAZY! Cool
