Eagle Eye

Didn’t know anything about the movie before watching it, so I had no expectation whatsoever. The pace of the movie is FAST, FAST, FAST, but unfortunately the theme is a repeating one and you can already guess what it’s about by the middle of it (I can’t tell you here what it’s about since it’ll ruin the movie hi hi…), so all in all I’d give this movie 7 stars out of 10.

Eagle Eye

The Story:

Jerry Shaw (the CUTE Shia LaBeouf Laughing) works in a photocopier office and he stays in a cheap apartment as he doesn’t have much money. One day he gets a phone call that his very successful twin brother, Ethan Shaw, is dead in a car accident. He goes to the funeral and on the way home to take some money from the ATM, he realizes that somebody has transferred a large sum of money to his account. He takes some money out, goes back to his apartment, and finds out that somebody has sent many packages.

What are the packages? Weapons and explosives. In his confusion, he receives a call from a woman who tells her to get out of the place ASAP since the FBI are coming inside in 30 seconds. Jerry is confused, so he disobeys the order. The FBI come and take him into their interrogation room. They suspect him of being a terrorist.

Inside the interrogation room, when the agents are outside, Jerry gets another call from the same woman, telling him that he’s going to be rescued in a second and it does happen. Jerry is given an order and this time he tries to obey her.

In another part of the city, a woman named Rachel (Michelle Monaghan) is having drinks with her friends when she receives a call from the same woman who called Jerry. She’s told to obey her orders if she doesn’t want anything bad to happen to her son.

These two characters’ paths meet when they follow the orders of the woman. They end up in a car, being pursued by the FBI and cops (as they think that both of them are terrorists), and still they have to follow the orders of the mysterious woman. For some reason, that mysterious woman is capable of controlling the traffic lights, all mobile phones, and all important data centres. She knows everything about Jerry and Rachel, including their childhood.

Who’s this mysterious woman? What is really going on? Why does she choose Jerry and Rachel to execute her orders? Everything will be revealed in the end. It has everything to do with the title of the movie: Eagle Eye. What is Eagle Eye? Why don’t you watch it then? Wink

I know what you mean, skwguitar! When I got to the middle of the movie, I was rather disappointed since I could guess already what it was all about. But still the action sequences are quite good IMO. :-))))
