Yesterday (2002)
If you want to see Yunjin Kim (AKA Sun in “Lost” series) in a sci-fi/action Korean movie, then this is the movie. I think this movie is slightly confusing in some parts. I was expecting a clearer explanation at the end, but I didn’t get such a thing. This movie gives me a feeling of slight depression due to the theme. It deals with cloning and science experiments that are taken too far (such as putting kids in cells and injecting aggressiveness into their bodies as well as cloning).
I’ll give this movie a 6.2 stars out of 10, because I think it could have been better!

The Story:
Korea 2020. Seok (Seung-woo Kim) is the leader of an investigation team. His own son is kidnapped by a group of people. This group of people has also been targeting other scientists. Seok tries to save his son, but unfortunately he is dying. Seok puts him in a “freezing capsule” so that he can be kept frozen until technological advances can help him survive in the future.
This group of people then kidnaps the chief of police. His daughter, Huisu (Yunjin Kim) joins in Seok’s team to help out, since she’s an expert in analysing criminal psychology. They then find out that the culprit is someone named Goliath (Min-su Choi). Goliath is actually trying to find Huisu’s real father, who’s gone in disguise. The chief of police is Huisu’s step father. Why does Goliath want to find Huisu’s real father? This man is the connection between Seok, Huisu, and Goliath.
What will happen in the end? Will Seok and Huisu be able to find Huisu’s real father before Goliath does?
